Start High School was on lock down earlier today after a student was arrested for bringing a handgun to the school.
Toledo Public Schools officials reported that students were safe. However, a search by Toledo police, TPS officials and a K9 unit was conducted as a precaution.
Toledo Police Sgt. Joe Heffernan said that school resource officers had information that a student at the school might have a handgun. When they located and check him, they found a handgun in his possession and took him into custody, he said.
Sergeant Heffernan said that classes are not currently in session, and that the student was to be interviewed.
Details on the student and the arrest were not immediately available.
