The doctor convicted last year of killing and sexually assaulting a pregnant woman in New Albany is never allowed to practice in Ohio again after the state Medical Board stripped him of his license yesterday.
Ali Salim was sentenced in December in Delaware County to more than 36 years in prison and fined $70,000 for killing Deanna Ballman, 23, and her unborn daughter.
Ballman’s body was found in her car along a rural road in Delaware County on Aug. 1, 2012, a day after she left her two young children with her mother. She said she was answering a Craigslist ad to clean a house.
After his release from prison, Salim will have to register as a Tier III sex offender, Ohio’s highest level, and could be deported to his native Pakistan.
