An Oxford Township mother has entered "not guilty" pleas to an allegation she was intoxicated when she dropped her child off at school.

Tina M. Coan, 43, of 4813 Delematre Road, is charged with one count each of child endangering and driving under the influence. A clerk with Sandusky Municipal Court said Coan entered "not guilty" pleas to both charges Friday and has a trial scheduled for March 14.

The misdemeanors are in connection with an incident Monday.

A Perkins Township police officer stopped Coan, whom he saw pull out of the Perkins High School parking lot, on Patten Tract Road after her vehicle went out of its lane several times, according to a police report.

Coan was lethargic and uncoordinated during the traffic stop and failed field sobriety tests, an officer said in the report.

When questioned about her prescriptions, the suspect said she only had one for anti-depressants, but officers later determined she had two more prescriptions for pain pills and patches, police said.

She was released later to a friend.

Coan submitted a urine sample, according to court records, but the results are pending. The court clerk said Friday the defendant isn't being represented by an attorney.
