The Huron River Joint Fire District handled a tractor-trailer fire this weekend.
"It was located at 170 Sandusky St. behind Midway in their storage area. We responded with three trucks and 16 men," Chief Tom Beck said.
Firefighters were dispatched at 12:56 a.m. Friday.
"It was fully engulfed on arrival and we had it under control in 10 minutes. Due to the damage from the fire, we were unable to determine the cause. The vehicle was owned by District Petroleum and it was there to be repaired. The loss was estimated (to be) $16,000," Beck said.
Firefighters left the scene at 1:55. The Monroeville Police Department assisted with the investigation.
