Huron County sheriff's deputies seized about 80 marijuana plants Monday at a Bauman Road location.
"We had received complaints from citizens about suspicious activity on Bauman Road, between Peru-Center Road and Ohio 99," Detective Sgt. Josh Querin said.
"According to the information, we believed individuals were growing marijuana in that location," he added.
"Deputy Eric Bardar was able to locate 80 marijuana plants growing there," Querin said.
"This was a pretty sophisticated operation," he said. "We had the helicopter fly the area during our marijuana eradication operation and was unable to locate the plants."
Querin said some of the plants were a high as 7-foot tall and many also were bud-producing.
"These plants were seized and logged into evidence," he added.
No arrests have been made.
"Not yet, this case is still under investigation," Querin said.
Bardar was able to inform the citizens the marijuana was seized.
"We continue to encourage people to contact us with drug information," Querin said. "They can always remain anonymous."
