A pair of Plymouth-area residents are under investigation after a traffic stop earlier this month on Ohio 598 near New Haven.
Huron County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Josh Querin said he could not release the suspects' names yet because no charges have been filed.
The traffic stop was part of a drug-interdiction operation conducted by the Huron County Sheriff's Office in tandem with Richland County.
"The vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation -- a broken tail light," Querin said.
"There were two occupants in the vehicle -- a male and female -- from the Plymouth area," he added.
Querin said there were several pieces of aluminum foil used to allegedly smoke prescription pills, several pieces of drug residue and suspected crack cocaine in the vehicle.
Querin said there were also nine containers of oxycodone in a fusebox in the vehicle.
"This investigation is ongoing," he said.
