A Wakeman man faces a pair of charges after allegedly threatening to commit suicide Tuesday.

Nathan T. Reffner, 21, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after an incident at a Laylin Road location.

"When deputies arrived, he (Reffner) had allegedly overdosed on a large amount of Percocet and was threatening to kill himself," Huron County Sheriff's Major Greg Englund said.

The incident took place at 8:55 p.m.

"North Central EMS also responded and tried talking to the individual," Englund said.

"He (Reffner) was out of control, belligerent, cussing and swearing," Englund added. "He was arrested for disorderly conduct and then resisted the deputies who had to forcibly restrain him."

Englund said Reffner was transferred to Fisher-Titus Medical Center and admitted.

"He had two, 10-pill containers of Percocet that were empty, but there was no evidence he hadn't taken all those," Englund said.

Reffner will be issued a court summons, Englund said.

Deputy Shannon Lyons and Sgt. Chuck Sommers were the responding officers.

"No injuries were reported," Englund said.
