A Norwalk motorist was charged with driving under the influence after a state trooper stopped him in connection with a suspected license suspension.
Michael P. Zika, 23, of 224A E. Main St., was stopped just before 3 a.m. Oct. 14 at the intersection of Whittlesey Avenue and League Street.
Trooper Tim Hoffman, of the state Highway Patrol, was doing a routine license plate check and determined Zika's driver's license had been suspended for non-compliance through Lorain Municipal Court effective Oct. 12. Zika told the trooper he had paid the fine, so he wasn't charged with driving with a suspended license.
Zika's blood-alcohol content level tested at .112 percent, Hoffman reported. The legal limit for drivers in Ohio is .08 percent.
