A man whom authorities called a "major supplier of heroin" has been convicted of a felony charge.
Darran L.W. Townsend, 26, of 117-B N. West St., pleaded guilty Friday in Huron County Common Pleas Court to possession of heroin.
In return, the state dismissed two fifth-degree charges of selling heroin, Huron County Assistant Prosecutor Richard Woodruff said.
Townsend was charged with possession of heroin, possession of crack cocaine and possessing weapons under disability following a drug bust by several area agencies.
"This guy was a major supplier of heroin," Norwalk Police Department Detective Sgt. Seth Fry said.
Townsend will be sentenced Nov. 6.
