EDITOR'S NOTE: The following is an excerpt from Joe Centers' column, which was published in Tuesday's Reflector.
Basketball and Bob Haas are synonymous in Willard.
For 22 years, Haas prowled the sidelines as the Crimson Flashes ruled the Northern Ohio League (NOL) and Northwest Ohio. Under Haas, Willard went 441-74 overall and 292-34 in the NOL. His teams won 15 straight sectional titles, beginning with the 1973-74 season and the Flashes appeared in three Final Fours — 1980, ‘82 and ‘84.
His name is on the floor in the Robert L. Haas Gymnasium at the school.
