An area driver who crashed his car just east of Berlin Heights after leading authorities on a 20-mile high-speed chase has been arrested.

Michael C. Sirak, 57, of Campbell, was in custody in the Lorain County Jail, unable to post a $25,000 bond, as of late Monday afternoon.

The defendant is accused of speeding past a sergeant from the Milan post of the state Highway patrol about 2:20 a.m. Sunday. Sirak was charged with reckless operation, failure to comply with the order of a police officer and failure to control after the high-speed pursuit along the Ohio Turnpike.
