Two girls on the same bicycle were shaken up after hitting a car.
The East Elm Street incident involving two girls, 11 and 13, happened about 4:15 p.m. Friday. Norwalk Police Capt. Mike Conney said the younger girl was on the back of the bike, riding as a passenger in what youngsters call "pegging."
The older girl drove the bike out of a driveway down the hill from Woodlawn Avenue when she ran into the side of the car, Conney said. The driver, who wasn't identified, stopped after the collision.
"They were extremely fortunate," said Conney, explaining that they could have ended up under the vehicle.
