Jeremy Gallant was indicted by the Erie County grand jury Tuesday on three counts -- attempted aggravated murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence.

Erie County Common Pleas Judge Tygh Tone signed the bond, which is now set at $1 million.

Gallant, 26, of 5820 Hill Road in Berlin Township, faces the chargers after the brutal attack of his estranged wife, Maria G. Vera, June 1.

Vera, 22, remains in "very critical condition" a Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, according to Sgt. Paul Sigsworth of the Erie County Sheriff's Department.

"She has been physically unable to talk to us," Sigsworth said. "She sustained very grievous injuries."
