Threat locks down Fisher-Titus

Norwalk Reflector Staff • Oct 29, 2015 at 12:12 PM

Police responded to the Fisher-Titus Medical Center emergency department Thursday after a potential threat to the safety of a patient, family and staff.

Hospital spokeswoman Johnna Young said "safety measures were put in place" about 1 p.m. to ensure the safety of Fisher-Titus patients, visitors and employees. All of the entrances to the hospital were placed on a lock down for about an hour.

Officers determined the threat was unfounded. Norwalk Police Chief Kevin Cashen was unavailable for comment.

"Because of HIPPA privacy laws, I cannot elaborate," Young said.
