Ohio requires children have up to date immunizations when entering school. Spring is a good time to bring your children up to date on their shots before summer flies by and it's time for school. If your child will be entering kindergarten this fall or is 5 years old, be sure he or she has had the following:
5 "DTaP" shots (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis)
4 Polio vaccinations
3 Hepatitis B shots
2 "MMR" (measles, mumps and rubella)
1 "Varicella" (chicken pox) Note: This is not required if there is proof the child already had the disease.
The Health Department now offers immunizations by appointment only at all of its locations. Please call (419) 668-1652 Ext. 252 to schedule an appointment in Bellevue, Greenwich, New London, Norwalk or Willard.
