Ex-Pirates fan now cheering for Tribe

I've not followed baseball for years. I think I burnt out on it when I was kid. I started collecting baseball cards when I was about 7 (in 1969) and for the next three or four years I basically ate, drank and slept baseball.

Like a lot of other kids, my card collection numbered in the thousands. And not unlike Raymond, the Dustin Hoffman character in "Rain Man," I could name every single ballplayer. On long car trips my older brother and sister would hold up cards with the name obscured. Not only would I name the player, but I would also recite his various batting or pitching statistics. We would do this for hours.
