Responded to a 53 Wooster St. oven fire at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters disconnected the gas and extinguished the fire. Returned to station at 9:13.

Responded to 2018 Jericho Road at 3:06 this morning to assist the Townsend Township Fire Department provide water to a structure fire. Returned to station at 3:16.


A Grand Avenue resident reported Thursday someone stole the rear license plate from her vehicle.

Responded to a domestic violence dispute Thursday on North West Street. Police forwarded a report to the Norwalk Law Director's office for review and another report to Huron County Children's Services.

James L. Root, 36, of 23 Newton St., Apt. 7B, was arrested Thursday and charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a domestic incident. He was held at the Huron County Jail until sober.

An area resident reported the theft of soccer equipment from the storage shed behind the former county human services building Thursday.

Eric L. Nutter, 46, of 272 E. Main St., was arrested on a warrant Thursday on the original charge of menacing. He is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

Dustin Howell, 21, address unknown, was served a warrant and charged with passing a bad check.

Michelle L. Jameson, 25, address unknown, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Benedict Avenue business incident today. She was released to her mother.

An area resident reported the apparent theft of his identification today.

A Grand Avenue resident reported a domestic situation today.

An East League Street resident reported suspected criminal mischief outside her home today.
