No one was injured Monday when a train hit the rear of a car Monday on Boughtonville Road. The unspecified person had exited the vehicle prior to impact.

Casandra J. Cusano, 18, of 21 Surrey Court, Monroeville, was charged with failure to control after she failed to negotiate a left hand curve Tuesday on River Road, ran off the right side of the road, hit a ditch and overturned.

Tawnya M. Hudak, 49, of Huron, hit a deer Thursday on West River Road.


Responded to an open burning complaint at 8:01 p.m. Thursday at 81 S. Old State Road. Checked the fire and it was too large to fit the parameters for open burning. Firefighters advised the man of open burning laws and extinguished the fire. Returned to station at 8:11.


An unknown driver struck another vehicle Thursday in a Milan Avenue business parking lot before leaving the scene.

Erick L. Taysom, 33, 32 N. Pleasant St., was arrested Thursday on two warrants and charged with contempt of court, due to failure to pay fines and costs. He is serving a 10-day sentence in the Huron County Jail.

An East Key Drive resident reported the loss of her son's cell phone Thursday.

A Woodlawn Avenue resident reported Thursday someone backed into his trailer and drove away.

A Gallup Avenue resident reported her 2-year-old daughter was bitten by a cat Thursday. The animal was placed in a large cage and will be watched for the next two weeks. Police forwarded a report to the Huron County Health Department.

Sharita Charlton, 33, address unknown, was served with a warrant Thursday for contempt for failure to pay fines and costs. She was held for court and later released.


Assisted the Willard Police Department with a burglary in progress Thursday on Walton Street, Willard.

The Norwalk Police Department reported there was a stabbing victim being treated Thursday at Fisher-Titus Medical Center after an East Ohio 61 incident.

A Tiger Road resident reported hearing suspicious noises in the house Thursday.

Responded to a menacing complaint Thursday on Gibbs Road.

Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call about domestic violence Thursday on Ohio 61, Plymouth.

A Silliman Road, Plymouth, resident reported a burglary Thursday.

An area resident reported a tractor-trailer was parked in front of a U.S. 20, Collins, garage Thursday and was possibly obstructing the view of traffic.

Dispatchers were advised of an alarm activation at an Old State Road, Greenwich, business Thursday.

An East Main Street, New London, resident reported a 17-year-old boy ran away Thursday. The boy later was taken home to the custody of his parents.

An Exchange Road, New London, resident reported a domestic dispute Thursday.

The Willard Police Department reported having an unspecified suspect in custody on a Huron County Juvenile Court warrant Thursday, who currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office requested a deputy check Monroe Street, Bellevue, Thursday for a red Ford truck involved in a hit-skip accident in their jurisdiction.


Responded to a hit-skip accident June 16 involving a parked vehicle at the intersection of North and Mechanic streets. The incident remains under investigation.

Arrested an unspecified juvenile suspect on a Huron County Juvenile Court warrant June 16. The child was transported to a juvenile detention center.

Barry Busek, 52, of 16 E. Main St., was arrested on unspecified Lorain County Sheriff's Office warrants June 17 and transported to the Lorain County Jail.

Responded to a North Street loud music complaint June 17. The owner turned off the music.

Charged a Railroad Street girl with a curfew violation June 19 in connection with a Franklin Street incident and took her home.

A female motorist reported being the victim of a road rage incident June 20 on U.S. 20. The incident remains under investigation.

Michael Brown, 34, of Sandusky, was charged with driving with a suspended license and released June 20.

A South River Street resident reported seeing a suspicious male suspect outside her home June 20.

David McLaughlin, 33, of Mansfield, was transferred June 22 from the Richland County Jail to the Huron County Jail on three local contempt of court warrants. He was released Thursday, based on a Norwalk Municipal Court order.

Andrew Takacs Jr., 46, of Wellington, was charged with driving with a suspended license and released Saturday.

Located a small dog tied to a pole Saturday on Main Street. The dog was tangled up on its leash and had no access to food, water or shelter from the sun. Police advised the owner of animal cruelty laws.

Responded to an unwanted guest complaint Saturday on Franklin Street. The suspect said she would leave to avoid further problems.

An area motorist reported a hit-skip accident in a Hyde Street business parking lot Saturday. The incident remains under investigation.
