A Sandusky Street resident reported the suspected violation of a temporary protection order between Nov. 26 and Saturday. Police forwarded a report to the Monroeville Law Director's office for review.


Responded to a roof alarm activation at 2:39 p.m. Monday at 340 Westwind Drive. Returned to station at 2:58.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 11:22 p.m. Monday at 21 Sycamore Drive. Returned to station at 12:19 a.m.


An area resident reported there was a gold, BMX Mongoose HoopD bicycle abandoned at a Southwood Drive tree lawn for several days.

A North Foster Street resident reported someone stole a prescription bottle with 100 Vicodin pills and $6 in change from her unlocked 1997 Dodge minivan Monday that was parked at a Westwind Drive business.

A Unity Lane resident found a 4-year-old boy in a sleeper outfit unattended walking on Linwood Avenue on Monday. The man put the boy into his vehicle to keep warm and called police, who contacted Huron County Children's Services. The child had woke up before his father and left his Hickory Street home.

A North Pleasant Street resident reported finding two carpentry nails propped against her front driver's side tire Monday.

A Ford Avenue resident reported telephone harassment Monday.

Jean-Claud Smith, 34, of Shelby, was arrested on a local warrant Monday at the Richland County Jail and charged with failure to pay fines and costs. He is serving a 40-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A Milan Avenue business employee reported a flag on the office building was stolen or blew away Monday.

Michael S. Roth, 31, of 4355 Rome Greenwich Road, Greenwich, was arrested on a warrant Monday and charged with failure to appear on the original charge of a railroad crossing violation. He went to Norwalk Municipal Court for his initial appearance.

An East Seminary Street business manager reported damage to a 54-inch Hitachi television Monday. A cook said a Huron male suspect cracked the middle of the screen when he threw his Cleveland Browns hat very hard at the TV. The incident remains under investigation.

Herbert J. Johnston Jr., 63, of 21E Sycamore Drive, was charged with domestic violence in connection with a domestic dispute Monday.

Carl Turner, 34, of 230 Whittlesey Ave., Lot 67, was arrested on three local warrants Monday at the Stark County Sheriff's Office. He was charged with failure to appear for hearings on Dec. 16, 2004 and March 10, 2005 and failure to show proof of substance abuse counseling by Jan. 15, 2005. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.


Dispatchers were advised of five downed trees throughout the county Monday.

Reported there were signs down Monday on Ohio 61 and Wenz Road.

A Huron County Highway Department employee reported someone hit the front head light of a company four-wheeler parked at the corner of DeRussey and Zenobia roads, Wakeman, Monday. A deputy later learned another employee did the damage.

The Huron County Children's Services sent a couple to the station for an undisclosed reason Monday.

A Fitchville River Road, Wakeman, resident reported the theft of an outdoor Christmas decoration Monday.

A South Ohio 60, Wakeman, resident reported a bus driver damaged his yard and hit his mailbox while making a U-turn Monday.

A DeRussey Road, Collins, resident reported a suspicious vehicle complaint Monday.

An Old State Road resident reported two Rottweiler dogs attacked her husband Monday and attempted to break through the door.

A Cleveland resident requested a deputy check on the well-being of a South Ohio 61, Plymouth, resident Monday.

An area motorist accused another driver of running a stop sign Monday on Fisher Avenue, Willard, and almost ran the complainant's vehicle off the road Monday.

Dispatchers were advised of an alarm activation at a South U.S. 250 business Monday.
