Mary A. Schuller, 73, of 5647 Willard West Road, Willard, hit a deer Friday on Ohio 162.

Gonzalo Galvan, 36, of 39 1/2 Townsend Ave., Apt. B, Wakeman, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to control Saturday after he went off the left side of Chenango Road and hit a ditch. He continued forward and hit a tree and utility pole. Galvan reported minor injuries, but wasn't transported.

The following motorists hit deer Sunday: Terry L. Puckett, 56, of 10 S. Kniffin St., Greenwich, on U.S. 224; and Jessica A. Whitmer, 30, of 3910 Foxglove Drive, New London, on Chenango Road.

The following motorists hit deer Monday: David N. Lonz, 53, of 765 Ohio 61, Monroeville, on Ohio 61; and Melissa K. Schmidt, 36, of 37 Cooper St., Wakeman, on U.S. 20.

Katie M. Gildenmeister, 82, of 100 Parkview Place, Bellevue, was charged with failure to yield the right-of-way in the collision Monday with the vehicle driven by Robyn J. Johnson, 51, of 1836 Ohio 269, Bellevue, at the intersection of Ohio 547 and Sandhill Road.


Responded to the report of black smoke at 6:43 p.m. Monday at 58 S. Norwalk Road. Firefighters removed some tires from a controlled burn and allowed the remaining brush to burn itself out. Returned to station at 6:50.


Sarah E. Kieffer, 23, of 38B Gallup Ave., was charged with driving with a suspended license in connection with a Ward Avenue traffic stop Monday and had her vehicle seized. She also was arrested on a failure to appear warrant. Kieffer currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

Marked a maroon 1991 Buick for violating the city's policy on parking in the road for 24 straight hours Monday. The officer noted the car had not been moved since Thursday and had it towed.

Charged three juveniles with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with an officer seeing them passing and smoking a pipe Monday at a Stoutenburg Park playground. They later were released to their parents.

An area motorist reported damage to the rear passenger side bumper and quarter panel of her vehicle Monday.

Mark A. Butler, 45, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a South Pleasant and West Main streets incident and held in the city jail until sober.

A North Old State Road resident reported finding a red Roadmaster Mt. Fury bicycle outside their home Monday.

Arrested a male juvenile on an underage consumption charge in connection with a Benedict Avenue incident Monday. Police transported him to the Sandusky County Juvenile Detention Center until his Huron County Juvenile Court hearing.


The Monroeville Police Department requested dispatchers process a juvenile as missing Monday and alert area authorities.

A Townline Road 111, Plymouth, resident reported losing her house and car keys Monday.

A Bull Head Road, Willard, resident reported receiving a suspicious telephone call Monday about possible fraud on his credit card account. The complainant checked with his credit card companies and determined there were no problems with his accounts.

The Bellevue Police Department reported having Ryan L. Rang, 23, of 24B Ontario St., in custody on a warrant Monday on two counts of trafficking in drugs. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

An area resident reported seeing two suspicious people near a red jeep Monday at the Willard Marsh Wildlife Area on Section Line Road 30, Willard.

A South Peru Center Road, Willard, resident reported a burglary Monday.

A North New State Road resident reported several people riding all-terrain vehicles were trespassing Monday.

A Hanville Corner Road, Monroeville, resident reported four people were acting suspiciously Monday.

Dispatchers were advised of an alarm activation Monday on North Ohio 60, Wakeman.

A Neal Zick Road, Willard, resident reported a suspicious person Monday.
