Valentine attempted to pass a northbound vehicle and hit the right side of Zak's car, which was parallel to her car.

Scott A. Tinker, 50, of 11 Jackson St., was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance and driving under the influence Monday after he hit the rear of the vehicle driven by John R. Fitzpatrick, 43, of Lorain, on West Main Street. Fitzpatrick took himself to Fisher-Titus Medical Center with possible injuries. Police had Tinker's pickup truck towed and seized his license plates as evidence.
The Shelby Police Department reported having Larry Conley, 30, of Shelby, in custody on a local warrant Monday. He was charged with failure to pay fines and costs and currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.
