HURON - BGSU Firelands will host its 37th annual College Night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Information tables from more than 70 colleges and universities will be in the main conference room of the Cedar Point Center.

The program is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Cedar Point Center lot adjacent to the building. High school students and adults will have the opportunity to obtain literature and speak with admissions representatives from a wide variety of colleges, universities and schools of nursing.

Fifty-nine institutions of higher education in Ohio will participate in this year's program.

Fall headcount enrollment at BGSU Firelands is 2,065 students, an increase of 2 percent from fall 2006. This is the highest fall headcount in the college's history, surpassing the 2005 record of 2,055 by 10 students. BGSU Firelands experienced growth among sophomores (8.3 percent), and seniors (10.8 percent). The number of freshmen, juniors and undergraduate non-degree students dipped slightly by 1.6 percent, 0.9 percent and 0.8 percent, respectively. Interim Dean James M. Smith made the announcement today after the Bowling Green State University Office of Institutional Research released the official numbers.

BGSU Firelands also experienced growth in student credit hours in undergraduate subsidy eligible distance learning (48.2 percent) and graduate subsidy eligible (38.8 percent). Student credit hours are a measure of the number of students multiplied by the credit hours taken by each student.
