The June 9 Antique Motorcycle Show on West Main Street is fast approaching. Chamber businesses and non-profit organizations wishing to participate should contact the office ASAP.

The show will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is a great (no cost) opportunity for you to get your business or organization in front of visitors and residents alike. Several organizations have already signed on and we hope you will be part of this event. We'll also be providing goodie bags to the bikers to include coupons, promo items, etc. Bike Week does not have to be the only time they visit our area. If we make them feel welcome they will return. It's up to us. If you plan to participate please contact the office at (419) 668-4155.

Wednesday is our Spring Fling Golf Outing at Green Hills Golf Course. This is the perfect outing for every level of golfer. A couple of team spots are still available; we have ordered chamber weather, by the way, so get your foursome together and call the office today. The day is full of fun and includes 18 holes, breakfast, lunch, prizes on every hole, winning team prizes, several contests and even "prizes" for the losing team, all for only $75 per golfer.

The Huron County Safety Council will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 a.m. Thursday. Featured topic is Radon Gas. The safety council provides area businesses the opportunity to create a culture of safety within its own workforce by presenting relative topics and resources. Participating companies that meet certain meeting and reporting requirements also may be eligible for a discount from BWC on their Workers' Comp costs.

More then 80 area businesses are members. If your business is not a member please take this opportunity to join us for this meeting and see how it could benefit your safety program. The meeting lasts approximately one hour, in the Distance Learning Room at Norwalk High School on Shady Lane Drive. Call the chamber office to RSVP.

With the arrival of warm weather will come visitors to the area and I'd like to remind member businesses to make sure to provide the office with brochures. Between our walk-in traffic and info requests by mail we really have numerous opportunities for your company "out there" but we can only do so if we have your information. Summer especially brings lots of requests for restaurant and accommodation information so if you fit the bill make sure we have your info.

Our first Ladies Only Golf Lesson was last week and we're all geared up for the next three Tuesdays this month. Following the last lesson on the 29, we will be hosting a women's networking event in the clubhouse at Eagle Creek. Nearly 400 invitations have been sent and I hope to see every business woman from the area in attendance. We have a lot to bring to the business world, ladies, and it's time we get at it. The "after hours" will feature a wine tasting hosted by Mid-Ohio Wines and Catering By Design will be creating some wonderful hors d'oeuvres. The event is free but the resulting connections could be priceless. Mark your calendar and we'll see you there.
