5th quarter

The Norwalk Parks and Recreation Department along with Norwalk Alliance Church are again offering a series of 5th quarters.

The first 5th quarter will be from 9:30 p.m. to midnight Friday after the Norwalk-Galion football game. Students in grades nine to 12 are welcome. There will be a dodgeball tournament, hot-shot contest, Dance, Dance, Revolution, open gym and finger rockets. The event will take place at the Ernsthausen Community Center. The cost is $5 per person and includes pizza and pop.

Genealogical society

The Huron County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24 in the Senior Enrichment Center meeting room, 130 Shady Lane Drive, Building C, Norwalk.

The program "How to research World War I and World War II records" will be presented by Marge Waterfield, a college instructor and freelance writer who has appeared on the Today Show in New York.

The meeting is open to anyone interested in genealogy or the topic.
