Contestants for Miss Maple City announced

Eleven young women will compete for the title of Miss Maple City 2020 Saturday.

The women, along with three teenage girls vying to be crowned Miss Maple City's Outstanding Teen 2020, will take part in the pageant at 7 p.m. at the Main Street School. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and a reception after the pageant is included in the ticket price.

There will be a silent auction with baskets from all contestants and all proceeds go to the Miss Maple City program. Co-directors are Dolly Ruffing and Wil Vickery.

Miss Maple City 2020 will receive a $500 scholarship, sash, crown donated by Kim and Shaun Kanary, floral bouquet from Betschman's Flowers on Main, lodging at Econo Lodge, breakfast at Berry's and photo session at Moll Photography and a night's stay at Kalahari Resort in Sandusky and the right to represent Norwalk at Miss Ohio Scholarship Program in Mansfield in June.

Miss Maple City Outstanding Teen 2020 will receive a $100 scholarship, sash, crown donated by Jane, Dave and Sarah Hider, floral bouquet from Betschman's Flowers on Main, lodging at Econo Lodge, breakfast at Berry's and photo session at Moll Photography and the right to represent Norwalk at the Miss Ohio Outstanding Teen Program in Mansfield in June.

Entertainment will be provided by Miss Maple City 20219 Alli Lange, Miss Maple City's Outstanding Teen 2019 Ava Nastasi, Miss Maple City 2018/Miss Ohio 2018 Matti Chrisman and her mom Aimee Hayes, Miss Ohio 2019 Caroline Grace Williams, Class Act Dance Studio of Norwalk and Clyde and Miss Maple City Lil Sisses.

Judges will be Dave Nethers of Broadview Heights, Tim Tubbs of Cleveland, Becky Higgins of Cuyahoga Falls, Miss Maple City 1993 Nichole Zesiger-Merkel of New Philadelphia, Doug King of Midland, Michigan and Kyle Von Kamp of Ashland. Judges chair is Karen David of Sandusky and auditors will be Richard Russell of Bellevue and Karen David of Sandusky. 

Emcees will be Miss Maple City 2015 and Miss Ohio 2015 Sarah Hider, Lange, Nastasi and Williams.

During the evening-wear portion, each contestant will be accompanied by a Lil Sis.

Lange will be accompanied by her Lil Sis Juliana Kaufman, daughter of Brooke and Shawne Kaufman of Norwalk.

Nastasi will be accompanied by her Lil Sis Arian Vickery, daughter of Lisa and Vern Vickery of Norwalk.

The Miss contestants and their Lil Sis partners are:

Emily Fields, 19, is the daughter of Anne Fields and Michael Gavorski of Aurora. She attends Kent State University and tap dance for talent. Her Lil Sisses are Quinn Merkel, daughter of Chad and Nichole Zesiger-Merkel of New Philadelphia and Simara Fannin, daughter of Ron and Laurissa Ellison of Norwalk.

Amanda Freel, 24, is the daughter of Diane and Tom Freel of Reading. She is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and Shawnee State and Talent is Ventriloquist. Her Lil Sis is Mara Romell, daughter of Shaunda and Mark Romell of Norwalk.

Alexis Garlock, 21, is the daughter of Alexis and Christopher Garlock of Lima. She attends Ohio Northern University and talent is baton. Her Lil Sis is Alexis Hall, daughter of Kayla Hatfield and Dustin Hall of Norwalk.

Bryn Hasenaur, 20, is the daughter of Tracy and Brian Hasenaur of Holland. She attends Owens Community College and talent is speed painting. Her Lil Sis is Kendall Resor, daughter of Brittney Felter and Richard Resor of Norwalk.

Brooke Howard, 21, is the daughter of Megan and Ronald Howard of New Albany. She attends Miami University and talent is Irish dance. Her Lil Sis is McKenzie VanMeter, daughter of Charity and Joseph VanMeter of Norwalk.

Autumn Kessler, 23, is the daughter of Lisa Kessler of Bethesda. She attends Muskingum University and talent is tap dance. Her Lil Sis is Carsyn Swick, daughter of Emily and Dan Swick of Norwalk.

Emily Legenza, 21, is the daughter of Margaret and Edward Legenza of Wauseon. She attends Ohio University and talent is musical theater vocal. Her Lil Sis is Layla Jones-Williamson, daughter of Leann Jones and Mike Williamson of Norwalk.

Madison Miller, 19, is the daughter of Valerie and Matthew Miller of Coshocton. She attends Ohio Wesleyan University and talent is piano. Her Lil Sis is Madelyn Swanson, daughter of Megan and Matt Steffen of Ashland.

Mackenzie Perry, 21, is the daughter of Tricia and Steve Perry of Nelsonville. She attends Ohio University and talent is classical opera. Her Lil Sis is Piper Richardson, daughter of Samantha Platte and Cody Richardson of Norwalk.

Caitlin Seifert, 21, is the daughter of Denise Duer and Bobby Seifert of Niles. She attends Kent State University and talent is baton twirling. Her Lil Sis is Molly Meacham, daughter of Stephanie Wilson, Mike McConnell and the late Autumn Meacham of Norwalk.

Brooke Young, 18, is the daughter of Cheryl and Andrew Young of Mansfield. She attends Ashland University and talent is vocal. Her Lil Sisses are Annaka and Abecka Ruggles, daughters of Betsy and Mark Ruggles of Norwalk.

The Teen Contestants and their Lil Sis Partners are:

Lucabella LaEace, 15, daughter of Cheri and Eric LaEace of Cleves. She attends Seton High School and talent is jazz dance. Her Lil is Lilly Miller, daughter of Stephanie and Travis Miller of Norwalk.

Shelby Leigh, 17, is the daughter of Kim and Charles Gaeth of Oak Harbor. She attends Oak Harbor High School and talent is baton. Her Lil Sis is Aailyah Coombs, daughter of Chelsey Coombs of Norwalk.

Baylee Shoemaker, 15, is the daughter of Erica and Jason Shoemaker of Bellville. She attends Clear Fork High School and talent is dance. Her Lil Sisses are Whitney Collins, daughter of Cody and Natasha Collins of Nova and Jordyn Ruhl, daughter of David and Ashley Ruhl of Norwalk.
