Area schools sending 31 athletes to state championships

COLUMBUS — Athletes from nine area schools will be well-represented across all three divisions at the OHSAA state track and field championships on Friday and Saturday in Columbus.

Held at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of Ohio State University, a total of 31different athletes in relays, sprints, distance and field events will participate this weekend.

Below is a look at who qualified for the state championships, and what time they are scheduled to compete this weekend:



Division III

9:30 a.m.: Girls 4x800 relay, New London (Abigail Good, Dana Gustely, Savannah Shaver, Kaylin Williams)

9:45 a.m.: Boys 4x800 relay, New London (Carson Coey, Curtis Joppeck, Mitchell Joppeck, Austin Reed)

11 a.m.: Girls 400 dash, McKenna Woodruff, Western Reserve

12 p.m.: Girls 4x400 relay, Western Reserve (Tabi Pausch, Aliyah Perez, Morgan Spettle, McKenna Woodruff)

1 p.m.: Girls long jump, Izzy Hauler, South Central

1 p.m.: Boys high jump, Chayce Schaub, Monroeville

1 p.m.: Boys shot put, Davis Hedrick, St. Paul

4 p.m.: Girls high jump, Camille Endsley, St. Paul

4 p.m.: Boys long jump, Chayce Schaub, Monroeville

4 p.m.: Boys pole vault, Jacob Allen, New London

4 p.m.: Boys discus throw, Davis Hedrick, St. Paul

Division II

9:30 a.m.: Boys pole vault, Austin Thompson, Bellevue

1:45 p.m.: Boys 4x800 relay, Edison (Tyler Coon, Jon Hrivnak, Daniel Lambert, Cole Weilnau)

3:20 p.m.: Girls 300 hurdles, Sydney Waskielis, Bellevue


Division III

10:05 a.m.: Girls 1600 run, Lily Dowdell, St. Paul

10:55 a.m.: Girls 800 run, Savannah Shaver, New London

11:45 a.m.: Boys 3200, Noah Avendano, St. Paul

Division II

9:30 a.m.: Boys discus throw, Josh Holida, Willard

9:30 a.m.: Boys high jump, Joey Holida, Willard

9:30 a.m.: Girls shot put, Payton Vogel, Bellevue

1:35 p.m.: Girls 1600 run, Isabel Chasney, Edison

1:45 p.m.: Boys 1600 run, Daniel Lambert, Edison

2:45 p.m.: Girls 3200 run, Abby Lesniak, Edison

Division I

12 p.m.: Boys shot put, Trey Leroux, Norwalk
