He was born the son of Nancy Reifert and Neil Wikel eventually becoming a Howells upon Nancy’s remarriage to Jerry Howells. Keith was self-employed in the flooring business with customers in in Lorain and surrounding counties.
Keith loved dogs, cars, fishing, the Browns and Indians, but most of all he loved his daughter, Steffani (fiancé Cody Phillips); son, Jason (Angela) Nichols and their children Alaina, Austin and Skylee; and especially hanging out with his grandson Kegan.
Preceding Keith in death were his mother, Nancy; fathers, Neil and Jerry; brothers, John (infant), Richard and Kevan; his grandparents, Franklin and Gertrude Reifert, John and Lucille Wikel, and Charles and Neva Howells; and his aunt, Gina Altmont.
Surviving Keith are his sisters, Janet (Tom) Changthoralek and Joanie (Todd) VanDerSchaegen; brothers Chris and Michael Wikel: aunts, Jan Van Vleck and Sarah O’Neal; uncles, David, Ned and Dean Wikel; ex-wife, Cindy Howells; and great-aunt, Joan Miller.
Keith was cremated and will be laid to rest in the Berlin Heights Cemetery with the rest of his family. A Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, at The Winerie, 6413 Hayes Ave., Sandusky.
