Michael 'Mike' Lee Ellis

WILLARD — Michael "Mike" Lee Ellis, 67, of Willard, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, in MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.

He was born in Willard, Feb. 14, 1952, to Delford H. and Helen M. (Bogner) Ellis.

Mike was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during Vietnam, and worked for MTD Industries in Willard for 39 years as a purchasing agent. He was a past member of the Willard Jaycees and Willard Men in Action and a recent member of the Willard Moose, Elks and American Legion. Mike enjoyed golfing and was an avid Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan.

Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Michael "Mikey" (Megan) Ellis and Eric Kaple, both of Willard; two grandchildren, Landon and Ashlyn; brother, Dick (Janice) Ellis of Willard; sister, Janet (Steve) Predieri of Willard; brother-in-law, Dalton Schaaf of New Haven; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cathryn "Cathy" (Hamilton) Ellis, March 27, 2010; and sisters, Connie (Doyle) Newman and Joanne Kay Schaaf.

Family and friends are invited to visit 4-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at Secor Funeral Home in Willard. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Montgomery officiating. There will be military rites following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the donor's choice.
