William 'Bill' Boyer

WAKEMAN — William "Bill" Boyer, 85, of Wakeman, passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, in Mercy Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 1, 1934, in Coshocton County, to Sylvester Boyer and Sevilla (Craig) Dwiggins. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired in 2000 as a welder for Cedar Point in Sandusky.

Bill was a member of St. Mary's Church in Wakeman, and the Wakeman Eagles. He was a charter member of the Wakeman Sno-Ballers and truly loved snowmobiling. He enjoyed puzzles, model trains, and attending sporting events for his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barb (Schaefer) Boyer; children, Dale (JoAnne) Boyer of Norwalk, Mark (Jennifer) Boyer of Lebanon, Ohio, Carol (Scott) Perkins of Wakeman, Michael Boyer of Delaware, Ohio, Thomas (Leah) Boyer of Wakeman; nine grandchildren; siblings, Mary Hammond of Culpepper, Va., Dick Boyer of Mansfield, Ga., and George Boyer of Patterson, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter ,Theresa Lee Boyer; and siblings, Robert S. Boyer, and Cletus Boyer.

Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman. There will be visitation one hour before Mass, at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Main Street, Wakeman. Burial in the church cemetery will take place at a later date.
