Joe worked for and retired from Maple City Ice Company in Norwalk. He married Mary Ann Charville on Aug. 26, 1972 and they had five daughters together. He enjoyed watching his daughters and grandchildren all play sports over the years for the Monroeville Eagles, yet he remained an avid St. Paul Flyer fan.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann; daughters, Megan (Mathew) Meisler, Sarah Fries, Bethany (David) Reiber, Abigail (Timothy) Wise and Emily (Kyle) Sommer; grandchildren, Army PFC Luke Meisler, Sydney Meisler, Madison and Brandon Reiber, Braylee, Jaxyn and Beckett Wise, Layne Neuberger, Charli and Franki Sommer; brothers Bernard (Karen) Fries, Thomas (Linda) Fries, Kenneth (Carol) Fries, Michael Fries; sister, Mary Niedzwiecki; brothers-in-law, Jon (Candace) Charville, Thomas (Dolores) Charville; sister-in-law, Susan (Joseph) Dickman and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law William Charville.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday in Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St Norwalk, Ohio. A funeral mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel St., Monroeville, Ohio with Fr. Ron Schock officiating. Private interment will occur at a later date in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
