She was born June 22, 1934, in Norwalk, to Willard F. and Helen G. (Hay) Ott. She was a lifelong member of St. Alphonsus Parish in Peru.
Theresa loved photography and was lovingly known as a “picture taker.” She enjoyed flower gardening, playing cards, playing Bingo, and decorating her church with flowers. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Joann (Michael) Meyer of Monroeville, Doris (Rick) Whitehouse of Florida, Rose (Dave) Stanley of Norwalk, Patricia (Troy) Wilhelm of Fremont, and Karen (Steven) Littlejohn of Bellevue; sons, Mike (Sherry) Smith of Monroeville, David (Jenny Cadwell) Smith of Norwalk, and Joe (Jenny) Smith of Monroeville; brothers, Frances “Buff” (Karen) Ott and Marcellus “Pete” (Ruth) Ott; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Smith, in 2007; and brother, Wilbert Ott.
Family and friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 1322 Settlement Road, Norwalk, with the Rev. Ronald Schock officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery.
