He was born Oct. 11, 1952, in Norwalk to the late Stewart E. and Joanne (Hipp) West. He was a 1970 graduate of St. Paul High School and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and eating Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. He worked at Jo and Ed’s Carry-Out, was a district manager for the Lorain Journal and also worked at Norwalk Furniture.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Susan E. (Pifer) West; children, Tamara West of Nashville, Dan West Jr. of Norwalk, Krista (Bill) Boyd of Cleveland and Dylan (Kristen DeRan) West of Berea; and a granddaughter, Grace; siblings, Patricia West of Northfield, Mikki Roy of Norwalk, Scott West of Strongsville and Ann (Jerry) Marti of West Salem; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Kathleen West and Molly Files.
Friends may call on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. where Dan’s life will be celebrated at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk with Rob Duncan officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.
