Barbara “Bobbie” J. Kurzen

ATTICA — Barbara “Bobbie” J. Kurzen (83) of Attica passed Tuesday, June 26, 2018 surrounded by her family at her home.

She was born March 8, 1935 in Milan to the late William D. and Blanche (Scheck) Meese.

Mrs. Kurzen was the owner/operator of the Milan Beauty Shop in Milan then later drove school bus for the Willard School system and was “Grannie For Hire” driving for Mennonites. Bobbie was a member of the Jewel Tea collector club, took tickets at Willard High School events and was a judge at the school bus rodeo. She also judged the canning, flower and crocheting entries at the Huron County Fair as well as her own love of gardening, day trips to the casino and her love of dogs, specifically Boston Terriers and Chocolate Yorkies.

Mrs. Kurzen is survived by her son: Gene “Chip” (Diana Smith) Kurzen Jr. of Willard, 4 daughters: Laura Hainline of Willard, Christine (Roger) Donnamiller of Willard, Michele (Ryan) Christie of Mansfield and Rebecca (John) Helmkamp of Huron, the father of her children: Gene Kurzen of Willard, 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters: Karen (John) Warner of Tulsa, OK and Sandy (Brian) Smith of San Bernardino, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Russell Hainline, sister: Mary Lou Franklin and brother: William C. Meese.

Friends will be received on Tuesday July 3, 2018 from 10-12 noon with a Memorial Service to be held at 12 noon at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 295 W. Tiffin Street, Attica.
