TOLEDO — Authorities have recovered the vehicle driven by a Norwalk teenager found dead underneath the Anthony Wayne Bridge near the river in Toledo.

Damian G. Henning, 17, a Western Reserve High School junior, was last seen Sunday at Kalahari, where he worked as a deep-water lifeguard.

According to The (Toledo) Blade, the Toledo Police Department responded to the 500 block of Boers-Boyer Way about 2:24 p.m. Monday for the report of a deceased person being found. Police said the vehicle driven by Henning also was found within the immediate vicinity of the scene and the teen’s cause of death hasn’t been determined. Local authorities informed Henning’s mother Tuesday afternoon that her son’s body had been located and identified.

Huron County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Dave Ditz told the Norwalk Reflector this morning that Toledo police will process the vehicle, a yellow Ford Mustang. He said the sheriff’s office is waiting for the results of Henning’s autopsy, which was scheduled for this morning, and to find out “there’s anything out of the ordinary with the vehicle.”
