St. Paul Episcopal

This church, 87 W. Main St., will celebrate the first Sunday of Advent with a service of Holy Eucharist at 10 a.m. A coffee hour will follow the service.

The Christmas season will continue with special liturgy for Frontier Parishes of Ohio.

The Sandusky Choral Society will present its Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6. This is a free concert and everyone is welcome.

This church is still taking reservations for poinsettias.

Narcotics Anonymous will meet in Benedict Chapel on Tuesday and Wednesday.

 

Berlin Heights Baptist

BERLIN HEIGHTS — At this church, located at 85 E. Main St., Berlin Heights, the annual teens' and adults' Christmas dinner party/gift exchange will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6. All those wishing to attend need to sign up by Sunday at church or as soon as possible with Pastor Shaun Cotterill by calling 419-588-2332.

Caroling in the community will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 18. Anyone who enjoys singing is welcome to join the carolers.

 

Collins, West Hartland United Methodist

With Thanksgiving behind us, Sunday marks the beginning of Advent. This Sunday, this church lights the candle of hope. We remember God’s faithful promises of a Savior and we wait in anticipation of this great event. Feel welcome and join us at Collins, 4290 Hartland Center Road, for a service at 8 or 11 a.m. Sunday or stop in at West Hartland, 1401 Zenobia Road, at 9:30 a.m. for a more traditional worship experience. Either way we open our doors and our hearts to you all.

Join this church, 67 E. Main St., for Sunday worship during Advent at 10:30 a.m. Bible study is at 9 a.m. Tuesday. 

Narc-Anon is at 7 p.m. Tuesday and AL-ANON at 10 a.m. Thursday. The adult Sunday school series at 9:15 am is from Andy Stanley, “Twisting the Truth.” Live Nativity showings is at 6:30 and 7:20 p.m. today.

 

First Presbyterian

Join this church as we start the Advent season. We continue our new sermon series on the Holy Spirit and Christmas. Nothing is impossible with God. The Holy Spirit corrects and challenges.

Scripture readings are Luke 1:1-26 and Luke 1:26-38. Service times are 8:45 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday, with Sunday school at 9:30. Catalyst mall and a movie event is at 1 p.m. Fusion is at 5 p.m.

 

First United Methodist

Receive Communion on the first Sunday of Advent. Pastor Brian Oblesbee’s sermon will be “Beginning with the End” from Acts 1. The confirmation class will have a Christmas party at 6 p.m.

Frank Sams will take orders for pumpkin rolls.

Honor the people in your life who have everything with a gift to a local charity. Donate and receive a card to give to the person in whose name you donated.

Poinsettia orders are due no later than Dec. 9.

Enjoy a special unity service at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 8. Children will present “Just a Little Christmas.”

 

New London Alliance

NEW LONDON — This church, 4625 Ohio 162, New London, is hosting a senior citizen luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Monday. Come for a free lunch and a time of fun and fellowship. All seniors are welcome and encouraged to bring a friend.

 

St. Paul Catholic

This church will bless and light the outdoor Advent wreath on the front steps of the church, following the 4:30 p.m. Mass today. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd will be held for young children on the first Sunday of Advent, at 11 a.m.

A patriotic rosary will be prayed in church at 7 p.m. Sunday. A rosary will be prayed at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Evening prayer will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Mass with anointing of the sick will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday.
