St. Paul Episcopal

This church will celebrate the first Sunday of Advent with a service of Holy Eucharist. It is the time to prepare for the coming of the Christ child. A coffee hour will follow the service.

The Vestry will meet Nov. 10 following the service. Sign up for poinsettias for the altar for Christmas.

Narcotics Anonymous will meet Tuesday and Wednesday in Benedict Chapel.


First United Methodist

Bring your appetites and come to the Big Cheese Cook-Off on Nov. 10 after the 10:30 a.m. worship. Attendees can vote on the best macaroni and cheese and eat Mike Freeman’s famous barbecued chicken. The young confirmation class is sponsoring the event and donations will benefit the 2020 Race The Rock and the Flat Rock Homes and Care Center.

On Sunday, this church will celebrate All Saints Day. The sermon will be from 1 Timothy 6:17-19, entitled “EKG: Ministry Flows from the Heart.”


Collins, West Hartland United Methodist

This Sunday, these churches remember all the saints who have passed this last year. A special time in the service will be set apart for a moment to reflect. Hopefully, you will remember to change your clocks (fall back), so you will be on time for the 8 or 11 a.m. service at 4290 Hartland Center Road, Collins, and at 9:30 at West Hartland, 1401 Zenobia Road. The West Hartland worship will be followed by a pot luck luncheon. All are welcome; bring a friend.


Trinity Lutheran

MONROEVILLE — This church, 121 Broad St., Monroeville, is hosting a Thanksgiving Eve community meal from 6 to 7 p.m. Nov. 27. All are welcome. The menu will include: Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, salad and pie.


Deliverance Tabernacle

NEW LONDON — Evangelist Johnathon Williams, of West Liberty, Ky., will speak during two revivals this weekend, at 6 p.m. today and 6 p.m. Sunday at this church, 4717 Prospect Road, New London.


First Presbyterian

Join this church to continue studying Jonah, the reluctant prophet. As we focus on God’s mercy and protection, we consider Jonah in the belly of the fish. Despite his disobedience, God rescues Jonah. The Scripture readings are Jonah 1:11-17 and 2:1-10. This church will honor All Saint’s Day during service times at 8:45 and 10:45 a.m., with Sunday school at 9:30. Fusion will meet from 5 to 6:15 p.m. and Catalyst from 6:30 to 8.


St. Mary, Mother of the Redeemer

Wonderful Women of the Spirit will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Norwalk Catholic School Early Childhood Center at St. Mary’s. Bring a snack to share if you wish.

The 55 Plus Group will have lunch at Jim’s Pizza Box in Milan at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 13. All seniors are welcome to share good food, fellowship and fun.


First Baptist

Join this church, 67 E. Main St., for worship at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Pastor Tara Henderson's sermon is titled “Broken for You” from I Corinthians 10:16-17. Bible study is at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Narc-Anon at 7 p.m. Tuesday and AL-ANON at 10 a.m. Thursday. The adult Sunday school series at 9:15 a.m. is from Andy Stanley, “Twisting the Truth.”


Berlin Heights Baptist

BERLIN HEIGHTS — This church, 85 E. Main St., Berlin Heights, reminds contributors that all Joy Christmas bags for the needy must be brought in no later than Sunday.

New London Alliance

NEW LONDON — All seniors are welcome to the Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the New London Alliance Chuch. Somebody from he New London Library will come and speak about books that interest people, what is new at the library and different community activities at the library. Lunch is free — bring a friend. This is a place to meet new friends and a time of fellowship. The church is located 4625 Ohio 162, New London.
