Board members have been busy on many improvements to the grounds and buildings. 4-H clubs have planted flowers, proving it takes cooperation and many volunteer hours to get ready for the fair.
The fair office opens Monday and will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily until the fair. Fair books currently are available online and all entries must be in the office by 5 p.m. July 31.
Here are some of the fair highlights this year:
Monday — Cheer Bonanza will highlight the first day beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the grandstand.
Tuesday — Kids’ Day with free admission for everybody until 3 p.m. There will be free activities for children throughout the grounds. Mitchell Tenpenny and special guest Teddy Robb will perform at 7 p.m. in the grandstand.
Wednesday — Veterans’ Day with all vets admitted for a penny. There will be activities at the Vets’ Pavilion and at 6:30 p.m. there will be an OSTPA (tractor pull) event in the grandstand.
Thursday — Senior Citizens’ Day with all seniors admitted for a penny. Entertainment for seniors will begin at 9 a.m. in the Pickworth Building with bingo in the afternoon. Motocross racing begins at 7 p.m. in the grandstand.
Friday — $1 off admission with a donation of non-expired canned food. Rough trucks action begins at 7 p.m. in the grandstand.
Saturday — Final day capped off with the demo derby at 6 p.m.
