Coon, Lambert pace Edison at 50th Carnival

TIFFIN — As they usually do, the Edison duo of Tyler Coon and Daniel Lambert again paced the Chargers’ boys cross country team at Saturday’s 50th annual Tiffin Carnival.

Edison placed eighth as a team in the 44-team field with 254 points. They were led by Coon and Lambert, who placed sixth and seventh, respectively, out of 304 total runners in times of 16:16.5 and 16:18.

Also for Edison, Jonathon Hrivnak was 33rd in 17:16.3. He was followed by Aidan Anderson (100th, 18:12.9), Dax Austin (108th, 18:23.8), Keagan Grames (124th, 18:33.2) and Bryce Michaels (144th, 18:44.7).

Willard was the next highest-placed team in the Div. II boys race. The Crimson Flashes placed 13th with 375 points, with the trio of Trenton Rupert (17:52.6), Blake Smith (17:56.1) and Landon Schaffer (18:01.6) each placing closely apart in 70th, 72nd and 81st.

Also for Willard, Justin Gillmore was 97th in 18:12.1, followed by Zack Keaton (155th, 18:59.9), Nick Bauer (242nd, 20:13.5) and Aaron Stephens (272nd, 21:03.9).

Rounding out the area teams in Div. II boys was Bellevue in 22nd with 690 points. Zach Cleveland was 38th (17:22.5) for the Redmen, while Cayden Adams was 55th in 17:34.9.

Also for Bellevue was Caleb Wenzel (180th, 19:18.3), Paul Coffelt (193rd, 19:27.5), Cooper Fought (224th, 19:54), David Lugo (231st, 20:03.7) and George Schaffer (275th, 21:10.1).

Lesniak seventh for Edison girls

In the Div. II-A girls race, Edison placed 13th out of 23 teams with 352 points behind the strength of Abby Lesniak.

Lesniak placed seventh overall out of 163 runners in 19:17.7 for the Chargers. Also among the top 100 for Edison was Isabel Chasney (50th, 21:04.3) and Katelyn Jeremay (87th, 22:31.4).

Also for the Chargers was Isabellah Linder (102nd, 23:27.5), Lindsay Sneider (117th, 24:28.4), Kennedy Baker (131st, 25:12) and Arianna Heyl (154th, 26:23.9).

Bellevue, Willard girls have good showing

The Lady Red runners placed seventh (219 points) out of 31 teams in the Div. II-B girls race, while Willard (456) was 17th.

Morgan Adams was ninth overall for Willard out of 202 runners, clocking in with a final time of 21:05.7. Amy Del Angel was 50th (22:38.2) and Elizabeth Dials was 89th (23:41.1) to give the Crimson Flashes three runners in the top 90.

Also for Willard was Maddison Osborne (150th, 25:30.5), Madison Clark (158th, 25:52.9), Araceli Huerta (163rd, 26:29.9) and Danielle Bowman (173rd, 26:52.8).

For Bellevue, Madelyn Verhoff was fifth overall in 20:40.6, while Rylee Bollenbacher was 43rd in 22:19.7 and Lilli Ray was 51st in 22:43.5.

Also for the Lady Red was Vanessa Shanaman (56th, 22:52.7), Jamie Vogel (64th, 23:05.4), Amanda Wahl (76th, 23:24.3) and Grace Booze (107th, 24:07.7).

Vazquez paces Norwalk

The Norwalk boys cross country team placed 24th out of 32 teams with 582 points in Saturday’s Division I-A race at the Carnival.

Robert Vazquez led the Truckers by placing 42nd out of 220 runners in 16:59.7. He was followed by Mitchell Sommers (62nd, 17:13.6), Kyler Kromer (104th, 17:33.2), Wyatt Hale (175th, 18:17.7) and Gabriel Hainline (199th, 18:40.5).

In the girls Div. I-B race, Shyanne Moser was 108th out of 191 runners in 23:00.3. Rounding out the Norwalk lineup was Ana Henderson (190th, 28:44.5) and Sydney Fox (138th, 23:46.5).
