When I was talking with one of my customers the other day, they commented that the foundation we were building needed to be strong enough to handle the load of equipment they were going to install. It made me think, isn't that true with everything in life? Don't all aspects of our life require a good, strong foundation so everything operates the way it should?
I think that is one of the many reasons I sit on the board and support the United Fund, it has a great foundation. With ties back to the late 1800s its’ foundation is solid. Throughout the years with its many different board members, and now with a new director, a large part of the United Funds success has been its ability to work through and adapt to the various transitions and having a solid foundation has made it all work well.
As needs change within our community so does the way we raise and distribute funds. We keep pace with these changes in our focus areas and we ask the programs we support to adapt as well. Our solid foundation allows us to adapt to the changes and grounds us in our mission of service.
It’s easy to feel proud of being a part of the United Fund and the solid foundation of caring we have helped build within our local communities. Those of us on the board enjoy being a visible part of helping our families, friends, and neighbors. But we are only a few of the many faces that are involved in our success. There are many others that have given generously of their time, talents and treasure that have helped the United Fund mission.
We exist to improve the quality of life in the communities we serve, the quality of life for our friends and neighbors in time of need. Together, all our faces are needed for this purpose. Thank you for being part of our family, our community, our United Fund.
