Cooking up support

MILAN — Nationally recognized chefs converged on Milan this week for food and fundraising. 

Renowned chefs Daniel Boulud and Thomas Keller joined Farmer Lee Jones of the Chef’s Garden to support Ment’or BKB — a nonprofit organization devoted to inspiring culinary excellence in youth — and the Bocuse d’Or Team USA. 

The Bocuse d’Or is an international biennial cooking competition where 24 teams compete on the world’s culinary stage, demonstrating their skills. Team USA, supported by Ment’or, represents the United States on this international platform and is both an opportunity for American chefs to showcase their talent and a collaboration with the entire world, a Chef’s Garden news release states. 

The local benefit event this week featured a farm tour and a dinner prepared by guest chefs.

Participating chefs included Jamie Simpson, Mathew Peters, Aaron Bludorn, Junior Borges, Melissa Rodriguez, Robert Sulatycky and Britt-Marie Culey.

“This event was a moment celebrating culinary excellence and community in support of the incredible work Ment’or BKB does for both Team USA at Bocuse d’Or and aspiring, young chefs,” the release states.
