NORWALK — The Lady Flyers raced out to a 25-0 lead after one quarter in Thursday’s FC win over the visiting Big Red.
St. Paul improved to 10-2 overall and 6-1 in the FC, just one game behind first-place Crestview (6-4, 5-0) — which it hosts on Tuesday at Harvey Keller Gymnasium in Norwalk after entertaining Monroeville today.
In Thursday’s win, Megan Hammersmith led the Lady Flyers with 25 points, while Danielle Smith had 14 points. Also for St. Paul, Anna Lukasko and Morgan Baxter each scored nine points, while Brooke Houck added eight points.

South Central eighth-graders win
GREENWICH — The eighth-grade South Central girls basketball team was victorious over St. Paul Wednesday night, 37-30.
Leading South Central in scoring was Angela Williams and Grace Lamoreaux with 12 points each. Kendyl Beverly added 11.
With the win, the Trojans improve to 9-1 on the season and will travel to Plymouth in more Firelands Conference action today.
Norwalk seventh-grade girls are 6-1
The Norwalk seventh-grade girls basketball team improved to 6-1 with Thursday’s 20-13 win at Sandusky.
Abby Koenig led the team with 13 points, while Lucy Schlotterer had four points and Shy Gruhlke scored three. Mary Willis played big for the Truckers on the defensive end.
NMS eighth-grade girls fall
The Norwalk girls eighth-grade basketball team lost to Vermillion, 19-13, on Thursday night.
The Truckers were led in scoring by Chloe Klausing with nine points, while both Emma Berger and Sophia Velasquez each scored two points.
