The Endowment Fund for Norwalk City Schools announces its 16th annual A Celebration of the Arts event, presented by Fisher-Titus Medical Center, will be held Saturday, March 18 at the Ernsthausen Performing Arts Center in Norwalk.

The celebration begins at 6:30 p.m. with a reception including petite appetizers and desserts, Norwalk City Schools Art Exhibit featuring best-in-class art students (K-12), drama department performing the 2017 musical highlights and orchestra students string quartet accompaniment.

The evening’s entertainment, Elec Simon and Friends, follows at 8 p.m. Simon has spent more than a decade touring across the country with STOMP. He can also be seen playing with the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Q-Stix at every home game. His music and rhythm are based off of nature’s oldest drum; the heart, which has brought him from a street performer to a giant stage performer.

The board of trustees has had the privilege to award a total of 324 student scholarships (more than $440,000) to Norwalk High School graduating seniors and a total of 25 faculty grants (more than $27,000) to Norwalk City School faculty members since the fund’s inception in 2000. The fund’s market value is currently in excess of $1.5 million.
