Willard income tax - how do you plan to vote?

Willard officials are asking voters on Nov. 6 to approve a 1/8 percent, five-year income tax levy to pay for police personnel hired from funds collected from the current/previous tax levy. How do you plan to vote on this issue and why?

This is just an extension of the previous levy, not a new one, JUST SO EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS THAT. They are not asking for any more money, just to keep the current levy active for another 5 years. Vote yes, our town needs police.

believe it

Hopefully people are smart about it and vote Yes. They've already been paying the tax so it's nothing new and really helps out our police department. Definitely vote Yes people!

more drugys need more cops

Game time

Lots of drugs in town, but what are the police even doing about it? NOTHING and this is why I will be voting no!!!!

humankindness

When they start doing their jobs and cleaning up the drug problem then ill vote yes..

How do you guys know they're not doing their jobs? You do realize they are always doing investigations and putting information together? I guess you think that they should be doing some type of bust like everyday....it takes time to put everything together.

believe it

Let's also take a look at your backwards thinking....you're already paying this tax so it's not anything new, so why not vote yes for it? And if you vote no, you're going to take away resources from the department and possibly a couple officers so now they will be even more shorthanded and get even less work done? If you want them to clean up the town more you would vote yes for this levy so that they can pay for these extra officers and resources.

Not doing their job? I read in the papers, both Norwalk and Willard every week about drug busts...etc. I would like facts that they "aren't" doing their job instead of opinions.

The lexy pays for a detective, the juvenile officer, and a school resource officer. If you make $40,000 a year, it only costs you $50. We've already been paying this tax for a number of years so it's nothing new. If you're complaining about the police department not getting much done, just think how much less they would get done without this levy.

We will never know the difference weather the levy passes or not, the town is in a downward spiral, school enrollment is down, people are moving away, jobs are not available, and drugs are rampant in Willard. This has been a problem for years, poor leadership had destroyed the town.

School enrollment is down all across Ohio, that's nothing new. It doesn't make any sense though that you're wanting the police department to do more but yet you're going to vote "No" on a levy that would help them? Am I missing something here?
