Nothing but a conspiracy theory. The gun-running program, under a different name, was started during the Bush Administration.

the difference is that under Bush the Mexicans were involved in it.
Under Fast and Furious they were never even told it was being done.

betrump

Oh. Well, it's okay, then. *bangs head against wall*

Military Spending? Current military spending is higher than at any time in our entire history. The Pentagon budget for 2010 was $693 billion; more than all other discretionary spending programs combined. That’s nearly half of all military spending on earth. Military spending has doubled over the past decade when adjusted for inflation. Under President Bush, military spending averaged 3.9 percent of Gross Domestic Product. It has increased to 4.9 percent—a full percentage point higher under President Obama. So you wanna complain when he spends too much, and you wanna complain when he makes cuts, eh? Any cuts that are made were actually requested by congressional REPUBLICANS.

propman

Yep the same republicans that Obama bribed to get Obamacare passed.

betrump

That's all you got, eh? Too funny.

Windy

propman - It's no use discussing politics with a Democrat. It's like trying to teach a pig to sing. It just wastes your time and annoys the pig.

betrump

Or more likely, you'll be proven wrong time and again, and it will hurt your feelings.

Romney has a "obamacare" type system in Mass.. He tells people he will apeal obamacare but yet he has a similiar law in his state he governs already.. There are only a few differences. What is he appealing? Shouldn't he be overturning the law in his state first that HE created before he appeals the national law..

Honestly if it's all about abortion claus of that's not going to change America. If the only reason Romney doesn't like Obama Care is because of Abortion issues then so be it. There are a lot of christian against obamacare over the abortion piece. What if that piece was taken out then what would Romney have to say about the law.. It would be a replica of his law.

Why did military spending increase? Did we go to war for 8 years?

arnmcrmn

@roger...and Obamas track record of fixing our debt is? We all know. Tax and print and keep spending.

betrump

While the debt keeps rising still, Obama has actually LOWERED THE DEFECIT on an annual basis. From Money Magazine: "For fiscal year 2008, which ended on Sept. 30, 2008, the country had racked up $459 billion in deficits, or 3.2% of GDP. In September, the world's financial system imploded and the U.S. economy's decline accelerated. The country racked up $563 billion in deficits in the first four months of fiscal year 2009 alone. Bush was president for three and a half of those months. For the whole of 2009, the deficit clocked in at $1.43 trillion, or 10.1% of GDP. The story improved only slightly for 2010.
Those eye-popping numbers arose in large part because Congress passed the $700 billion TARP bank bailout in October 2008 under Bush and then the $787 billion Recovery Act in February 2009 under Obama. What's more, the fact that safety-net spending automatically rose during economic distress was to be expected no matter who sat in the Oval Office. While Republicans often blame the outsized deficits under Obama on spending, a key reason the 2011 deficit was so high was tax cuts.
Obama and the Republicans cut an $858 billion tax compromise that extended the Bush tax cuts for two years. It also enacted a one-year Social Security tax holiday and reduced the estate tax.
All told, the tax cut compromise added about $410 billion to the 2011 deficit, the CBO estimated."

Dr. Information

How can you cut debt when the national debt clock keeps rising. This is how your source spins its numbers. Lets say the debt was 13 T, they raise the debt ceiling 1.5T, which means our government can print and spend more THENNN, they make cut of .5 T off the 1.5 T debt ceiling raise and THENN the government tells us they have reduced the debt by .5 T. The math doesn't add up and its asinine that people cannot realize this. Until the debt starts going DOWN, then we are not making cuts....its doesn't get any more clearer than that.

betrump

debt and defecit are two different things. That's why it doesn't make sense to you...

Dr. Information

No, I fully do understand it, the problem is, your math doesn't add up. Our debt continues to climb and until it starts going the other way, debt....deficit....tomato...toMATo.....its all the same. We as a nation cannot keep going in this direction and yet on the same hand believe that we are "managing our money".

Do you know how much of the stimulus money was handed to companies that shortly after went belly up. Or how about the money that went directly overseas to China. I know, right, this cannot be true about Obama.

theignorance

Why increase military spending when we don't have to? What Obama said during the debate was completely logical. Bigger does not mean better. We don't still use desktop computers because we now have laptop computers that make everything easier and are less expensive in most cases. Because of the technology, we are able to cut military spending and be just as effective as we are now if not more. His comment saying, “We also have fewer horses and bayonets” only makes the most sense.

Dr. Information

But we are not talking about horses and bayonets....we are talking about Tanks and Subs. Ask the Tank factory in Ohio. Call and ask them how they feel about Obama getting another 4 years.

theignorance

My point is, we do not need to increase military spending anymore. BIGGER DOES NOT MEAN BETTER. So why buy more tanks and subs when we have technology like drones that can do just as much damage if not more without putting our people at risk and spending money?

betrump

My brother is a 17 year active duty vet. He's a tank commander. Tanks are going the way of the dodo. We don't need as many because of the type of enemy, fighting, and environments we are in. I was also a submariner in the Gulf War. The new Virginia Class subs can do anything. Littoral combat, deploying SEALS, Kill subs with torpedos, destroy ships over the horizon with harpoons, destroy land targets hundreds of miles away with Tomahawks. Anti-Airfield warheads, chemical weapon warheads, nuclear warheads, minesweeping and minelaying, spying, under-ice operations...I could go on and on. WE DON'T NEED AS MANY.

deertracker

When will the cons admit they caused this mess. The war "we all" agreed on was in Afghanistan, not Iraq. Obama does have a record to run on. You guys sound like a broken record that you heard on Faux news. Get over yourselves. Gov. Romney is the same "gentleman" that got rich off the middle class. The family wanted him to stop POLITICIZING the death of their loved one. Wouldn't you? Get your head out the sand and get the facts....please!

arnmcrmn

I always hear and read..."Obama does have a record to run on".....exactly what record is that? Lets cite examples and not opinion.

betrump

I've given you dozens of examples, with stated sources, but you just always claim I'm lying. Heck, if Obama said the grass was green, you'd say it was orange...

arnmcrmn

Obamacare which is raising prices......failed stimulus with countless bankrupt green energy companies, failed gm bailout......

MHL

GM ALIVE BIN LADIN DEAD.
Those arw the undisputable facts.
Get ready for 4 more years skippy

propman

Libia- FOUR DIED AND THEY LIED!
Fast and Furious- HOW MANY DIED AND THEY ARE STILL LYING!
Obamacare- HOW MANY WILL DIE FOR THAT LIE!

arnmcrmn

Gm stock is half the price it was when we bailed them out. That's a loss either way you look at it.

betrump

They've made nearly $14 Billion in profit, and hired over 2000 more workers since then. $33 dollars to the current close of $24.62 is not HALF. I'm sure your PC has a calculator somewhere...

arnmcrmn

@betrump....the stock would have to get to 53.00 a share for our investment to be a wash......as of this morning GM stock is 24.25......so yes, its half. I think your PC has a calculator too. Just keep ignoring the facts. Also, you forgot to mention the MILLIONS GM got right before they filed for bankruptcy........why would we give a company millions before they filed? Sounds a whole lot like Solyndra or the other dozen bailed out companies that went belly up.

betrump

Again, you said their stock was half the price since we bailed them out. YOU ARE MISTAKEN. It started at $33.
