Obama-Romney Round 3 - Who won final debate?

President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney spent their final debate Monday circling the globe’s hot spots as they clashed over the merits of diplomacy and brinkmanship in Libya, Israel, Iran, the Middle East and other volatile areas. But they also managed to get in digs at their opponents’ economic plans. Who would you say won this debate and why?

The moderator was the best of the 3 easily. Id give Mitt the slight nod just because of how he represented himself. He gave credit to the president when it was due and had no problem on several occasions doing so. He explained his thoughts and what we need to continue to do and or get better at what we aren't doing right to solidify our foreign affair. Obama seemed to instantly turn to the blame game and had really no information to give that we already didn't know, which I believe turned many off right off the bat. I was patiently waiting for Obama to man up and say that there was some wrong things done on the part of Libya.....but I see that didn't happen. Anyhow, voting in 2 weeks.

Pres. Obama is essentially following Pres. Bush's foreign military policy strategy and Gov. Romney said that he'd do more of the same.

Increasingly, this country can no longer afford both "guns and butter" and is going deeper into debt in order to finance them.

Vote for "Obamney." It won't make a difference.

I REMEMBER WHAT 8 YEARS OF BUSH LEFT THIS MESS!!! AND IT WILL NOT COME BACK TILL WE CHANGE OUR TRADE BILLS?

Dr. Information

The annual GDP growth rate under Bush was 2.5%. Under Obama is has been. 0.7%. Bush added just over a million jobs from 01-08. Obama has lost a net 500,00 jobs. Just the Information..from your Dr.

betrump

Since 1948: Democratic Admistrations = 4.01% GDP Growth. Republican Administrations = 2.75% GDP Growth. Worst President so far? Bush = 2.09%. None of them had to deal with the major recession that we face today.

According the the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, Bush saw a DECLINE of 646,000 jobs. Obama? An increase of 332,000 jobs. Working age population coincidentally grew faster, too, under Republicans, but Dems have traditionally helped create more job growth.
The Last 5 Republican presidents have 'created' 23.9 million jobs.
The Last 5 Democratic presidents have 'created' 42.3 million jobs.

I'm wondering if your first name, Dr. Information is Lackof?

At what price? The National Debt has exploded to OVER $16 TRILLION since Obama took office. If Obama gets re-elected, we won't have to worry about any more presidential elections because we will be THE UNITED STATES OF CHINA!!

betrump

It was $10.6 Trillion when he took office. Let's not forget, there was a budget surplus when Bush took office. Curious why you only want to blame the President for all that. The debt ceiling was never an issue for you folks back then, either. Interesting.

Windy

$10.6 TRILLION to over $16 TRILLION . . . IN ONLY THREE YEARS? And you're defending THAT record? No wonder our country is in such a mess.

betrump

The Bush Tax Cuts and the two wars are responsible for half that debt. Look it up. http://www.washingtonpost.com/bl...

Windy

Hmmmm . . . $8 TRILLION in EIGHT years VS. $8 TRILLION in THREE years? Yup, that's a tough one!

The Soviets claimed 0% unemployment; obviously communism is better than even the Dems eh?

What are the exact policies that the Dem Presidents have set in place which caused such wonderful employment numbers?

Is This Newsworthy

How soon we forget. Only 9 months after Bush taking office the Untied States was hit with one of the worst events in history - "9/11". We entered into a war which at the time few Americans would disagree with. It turned out to be longer and more costly than originally imagined, However, now we look back and critisize "The Bush Years" and policy's for the war...PEOPLE...WE ALL AGREED back then to "Get" the people behind this terrible attack on the U.S.
The Financial Crash was actually started with the Clinton administration "loosening" regulatory rules and telling banks they "needed" to make some "marginal" loans to people who might not qualify.
Bottom Line, neither party is going to fix the debt problem short term. The leaders of this country have broken the law by not passing a balanced budget in any of the last 3 years. If that was you or I we would be jailed for breaking the law. So, do we want leadership with total disreguard for the law? If we can't jail them, at least send them home and quit paying them to do more damage to the next generation(s)

MHL

Let us also not forget that Bush spent the majority of his first 9 months on vacation and just maybe 9-11 could have been averted.

Also while we all agreed to >get those responsible." many of us new they were not in IRAQ

propman

And do not forget that Clinton was offered Osama several times and he refused to deal with him.

@ betrump:

Pres. Clinton launched a cruise missle attack against OBL's base in Afghanistan, but the Admin. warned Pakistan prior to the launch.

No warning was given by Pres. Obama for the raid on bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad.

Good thing that the Pakistanis didn't mistake it for an attack from India.

Coulda been a nuclear "bump in the road" for Pres. Obama.

Pres. Obama plays with fire.

Windy

MHL - And exactly HOW MANY DAYS has Obama spent in Washington, DC during his first term in office? The last time I heard, it was only 120 DAYS! Obama just flies around in Air Force One, visiting all parts of the country to "speak to the people". Do you know how much it costs the TAXPAYERS every time he does that? The radio and TV address to the country were much more cost effective.

betrump

That's the most insane thing I've heard since Romney at the debate last night...

propman

I take it you never listen to yourself.

rec8888

MHL you are as bad as our present administration. Bush on 9 month vacation and 911 could have been averted. Grasping for straws. Why not just admit the man with a whole lot of promises kept one, he gor Bin Laden. Thats its!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bleushell4

Very well put!!

arnmcrmn

@jstus....you are very correct about the Clinton administration and the lending process, which caused a significant amount of the damage we are seeing today. Funny how Clinton now says we have to change the ways of the past, when he clearly was a major cause of what happened....yet he too blames Bush. Lets also not forget we were hit with Katrina which was the worst national disaster we have ever seen.

betrump

More proof that deregulation does NOT work.

propman

It was the regulators forcing the banks to loan to those that where unable to repay. That is OVER-REGULATION not deregulation

betrump

Forced? Wrong word. They were not FORCED to loan money.

propman

When it is "loan to more poor or else"or "help more disadvantaged get morgages" and they can close the bank down.
THAT EQUALS FORCE!

betrump

No one can force a bank to lend any money they don't wish to. The door was opened and they took advantage of it simply because of greed. They all knew it was high risk business, yielding extremely high interest rates, but they also knew the tax payers would ultimately cover the losses. It was not forced. It was pure greed. So, sorry, but you are without doubt, wrong.

propman

If you think I'm wrong fine, You seem to see things backwards.
Bush wanted the banking rules changed two years before the collapse but Barny Frank and the dems who had control of the house and senate refused to see the problem or do anything about it.
The banks in trying to get rid of the bad morgages "bundled" them and investors lost their a$$es when the truth hit
Being blind to reality do to political beliefs by the liberals is what did this to us.

betrump

Yes, you ARE wrong. You said the banks were FORCED to lend for sub-primes. That is 100% wrong.
