Who won the debate - Obama or Romney?

With the presidency hanging in the balance, President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney clashed sharply Wednesday in their first debate, trying to convince voters they’re uniquely qualified to lead the country to full recovery from the worst economic downturn since the 1930s. The economy and domestic issues were the focus of the 90-minute showdown between the presidential candidates, the first of three nationally televised face-offs with an audience expected to total in the tens of millions. They met at the University of Denver at a time when the country remained closely divided between the two and millions of Americans are looking for the best path to restore jobs and paychecks. In your opinion, who won the debate and why?

Barack Obama
17% (17 votes)
Mitt Romney
78% (77 votes)
Undecided
5% (5 votes)
Total votes: 99

What fact checkers? Everyone I have seen shows Romney was full of it. Video does not lie.

@ Zippy:

Where's this "video"?

Give us a link. LOL!!!!

arnmcrmn

Wheres the link Zippy....oh wait....here it comes......www.moveon.org.......LOL.

Romney/Ryan baby!!!!!!!

Contango

@ arnmcrmn:

But Zippy writes that you shouldn't believe what ya see on the Internet.

How can that be that he believes it?????

And this from the guy/gal who eats meat and donates to PETA.

A bit confused????

Winnie, just watch CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS. You won't see them on Fox "news", or hear it on Rush Bimbo. If you haven't seen clips or Romney flip flopping then you are very uninformed.

Contango

@ Zippy:

Reads like you can't form your own opinions but need to listen to others in order to tell you what to think.

Typical Obamasheeple. BAAAAAAA

I don't care about Gov. Romney flip-flops or otherwise.

Mr. Romney is just an East Coast RINO and Pres. Obama is grossly incompetent.

IMO, Mr. Romney will just bankrupt this country slower than will Mr. Obama.

44846GWP

Oh, so the great Winnie dosen't care if Romney flip flops or otherwise. Well how can you vote for him if you have no idea what his plans are or his stand is day to day? Now, you say you don't like the President or Mittens, well then, don't vote, and don't complain.

Contango

@ Zippy:

If I vote for Mr. Romney, maybe I just want the country to go bankrupt slower than under Pres. Obama?

Besides, there are only two presidential candidates?

Typical Obamasheeple. BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

There are only two canidates that have a chance of winning.

SherwinForOhio57

I chose undecided because there wasn't a "neither" button. Listening to both of them made me realize that they are both big governemt candidates. Neither of them has a plan to seriously reduce spending, our debt, and our deficit. I simply can't see enough of a contrast between the two for either of them to earn my vote. Gary Johnson has earned my vote. I know, at least someone in here will tell me that voting for Johnson is taking a vote away from Romney. I say no, Romney took a vote away from Romney. I am sick and tired of voting for the lesser of two evils. It seems that this is what we are stuck with year after year and my vote is to prescious to waste on a candidate who has not earned it. www.GaryJohnson2012.com

@ SherwinForOhio57:

Agreed.

And as I often write:

A vote for "Obamney" is a vote for change. :)

Mr. Romney did say that he would fire Mr. Bernanke - I liked that.

Jim Grant for Fed Resv. Chairman!!!!

Rick Santorum won Huron county in the Primaries. Shows the education, or lack there of, of the "republicans" here.

Sitting In The ...

These are the great minds who watch Fox News.

Contango

@ Zippy:

And in the last big state primaries of '08, Hillary Clinton was beating Mr. Obama handily.

Unfortunately for her the game clock ran out.

Didn’t Sen. McCain win Huron Co. in the '08 election?

Yikes! Those "ignorant uneducated" Repubs are all around you.

You had better take your little penny collection and move.

arnmcrmn

@Contango.......isn't so easy to zip up zippy. The ignorance of accepting the defeat even in the smallest of things like this debate shows the type of people we are up against. They deflect, name call and distract....oh and never show a link, but post opinions daily like they are facts.

44846GWP

I don't post "links" because I watch news on T.V. Ever hear of it? A big box with picture and sound?

44846GWP

Try watching Ed Schultz or Chris Mathews, or Anderson Cooper.

Contango

@ Zippy:

So the opinions spewed by lefty talking heads on cable is more believable than pure news stories without talking heads on the Internet? LMAO!!!

Yea, get your opinions from others instead of forming your own. Typical Obamasheeple. BAAAAAA

arnmcrmn

Here is the left opinion. Watch MSNBC...CNN and its all good....they tell the truth. If you watch Fox News they basically call you an idiot and then throw out the typical names: Fox Bot, Faux News.......typical liberals.......name call when you can't win.

I don't watch much news on TV because when I do it makes me sick how they stroke Obama when he has done NOTHING for this country.

44846GWP

You guys keep your fingers in your ears and keep going blaa, blaa, blaa so you don't hear the truth. Close your eyes too so you don't see it either. Ignorance must be bliss.

Contango

@ Zippy:

"Ed Schultz or Chris Mathews, or Anderson Cooper" is the "truth."

You 'seriously' believe that these opinionated blowhard talking heads regurgitate the "TRUTH"?

ROFLMAO!!!!

H*ll, Fox or Limbaugh doesn't even spew the "truth." They are opinions.

Did you 'ever' think for yourself?

Typical brainwashed Obamasheeple. BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

The "fix" is in:

I figure that Pres. Obama threw the first debate, so more people will tune in to the second one when he 'clobbers' Gov. Romney.

Kinda like the World Series, where the networks "fix" the games in order to maximize advertising revenue.

Las Vegas odds makers are standing by. :)

Would love to see an Obama-Romney match in the octagon.

Get ready for "Hand-to-Hand in Hempstead," coming Oct. 16!

Sitting In The ...

Romney said he would fire Big Bird because he didn't want to keep borrowing money from China. Yeah he clearly crushed Obama in the debates and keep listening to Fox News there "Fair & Balanced" .....If I had a choice between Big Bird and Romney I'd vote for Big Bird.

arnmcrmn

@sitting.....but I suppose you are okay with the "keep borrowing to fund things we can't afford" philosophy aren't you. Thank God you and the other Obama lovers don't own a business because if you did it would be bankrupt in a year.

betrump

He who shouts the loudest...can't help but notice Armcorn and Incontinent have to post a hundred times on every article, spewing the same thing over and over. They obviously learned something from R-money. On style, there's no question R-money won the debate, but literally everything he said was a lie. Dare I say, even Fox News called him out. Take your Milton Friedman loving selves to South America, where his policies have practically destroyed economies everywhere. America is not interested. Can't wait to hear all the whining after the election.

arnmcrmn

ahhh more name calling....typical. Are you mad that Romney has been successful and made money? Jealousy is a Beach......and you are playing in the sand.

betrump

Romney made is money first, by his daddy giving it to him, then secondly, by destroying companies and outsourcing jobs. I am hardly jealous of him ruining thousands of lives for his wealth. And you complain about name calling, but talk trash to everyone that doesn't agree with you. Kinda hypocritical, no?

arnmcrmn

People outsource jobs because of our policies and because of over regulation. They tax every inch of the way and bottom line is there is NO incentive to stay in American anymore. Its called Capitalism, free and open business. You do understand that don't you. Where did I name call? Just because I can hold an discussion and provide facts, that is name calling? What are we 5 and on the playground and I took your jump rope?

By the way, Unemployment is under 8% now, and Obama is officially a 'NET JOBS CREATOR.' There goes two more TeaBag talking points right out the window...
