BELLEVUE James Bryan "Jimmy" Furlong, 52, of Bellevue, died Tuesday at the Bellevue Hospital.
He was born July 23, 1954 in Bellevue. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and a volunteer at Fisher-Titus Medical Center and Fisher-Titus Memorial Home. He was a graduate of Christie Lane School.
He was employed by Christie Lane Workshop and was a student representative to the Christie Lane Industries board of directors. He participated in the Special Olympics in the 50 yard dash and received medals of gold, bronze and silver on a state level. He will be remembered for his love of dancing and other people.
He is survived by his mom, Margaret Noreen (Rospert) Furlong; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his dad, James L. Furlong; and grandparents, Cornelius and Margaret (Driscoll) Rospert and Leo and Catherine (O'Donnell) Furlong.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Foos and Son Funeral Home, 311 W. Main St., Bellevue, where the Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday in Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue. The Rev. Keith Stripe will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
