CLARKSFIELD Bonnie Lou Divins, 71, of Clarksfield Township, died Monday at Elyria Memorial Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
She was born Aug. 25, 1935 in Clarksfield Township, daughter of the late Charles R. and Ada Mae (Hainline) Rider. She was a lifelong resident of the Clarksfield area.
She graduated from New London High School in 1953. She helped run the family farm. She was an EMT for Citizen's Ambulance in Wakeman for five years. She was a member of the Wakeman Snowballers Snowmobile Club. She enjoyed making ceramics and traveling. She was an avid bird watcher and animal lover.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Don Divins; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra Collins and Denise and Joe Riley, all of Clarksfield Township, and Danette and Eric Rankin of Willard; a son, Dean Divins of Clarksfield Township; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Mayer of New London and Betty Cooke of Ashland; and a brother, Raymond Rider of Norwalk.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; and a brother, Dana Rider.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, where wake services will be held at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 18 Park Ave., New London. The Rev. Douglas Taylor will officiate.
