WEST SALEM Katherine A. "Kate" Copsey, 75, of West Salem and formerly of Greenwich, died Sunday evening at Ashland Samaritan Hospital.
She was born Feb. 9, 1932 in Richland County to the late George and Helen (Swimmer) Hubler and was a lifelong area resident.
She attended Norwalk High School. She was the former owner of Copsey's Drive Thru in Greenwich and had also worked at Pioneer Rubber Company in Willard, Festival Homes in Greenwich, Pepperidge Farms in Willard and had also worked in the South Central Schools Cafeteria.
She also attended the Ripley Congregational Church in Greenwich and was a member of Pythian Sisters Temple No. 376 in Greenwich. She enjoyed travel and bingo.
She is survived by her husband, Edward L. Copsey of Greenwich; sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis E. Copsey of Dunedin, Fla. and Terry and Jennifer Copsey of Greenwich; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah J. and Terry Conley of Greenwich and Janet M. Chandler and Mike Phillips of Bellevue; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her companion, Terry Bebout of West Salem; and a step brother, Thomas Batt, Jr. of California.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Slavick.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, where a Pythian Sister service will take place at 7:45 p.m. and a funeral service at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Bob Hudberg officiating.
