CLARKSFIELD Ernest L. "Tub" Gregory, 64, of Clarksfield, died Wednesday at the Cleveland Clinic following a short-term illness.
He was born April 7, 1942 in Camden Township and lived most of his life in the Wakeman area.
He retired from the Lorain Ford plant in 1992 after 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, yard work, outdoors, fishing, cooking and playing cards. He also enjoyed talking about old times.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Victoria "Vickie" H. (Wilber) Gregory; children and spouses, Vickie L. Gregory-Shaffer of New London, Vanessa (Ben) Gibson of Wakeman, Jeffrey L. Gregory of Wakeman and Ernest W. Gregory of Wakeman; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alberta and David Reichert of Elyria, Carolyn and Joe Morgan of Elyria, Patricia Santarelli of Elyria, Virginia and Brad Rehm of Lagrange, and Elaine Whitback of the Cleveland area; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harley "Tom" and Barbara Gregory of Nova and James "Danny" and Gloria Gregory of Wellington; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jody Ray Gregory; a sister, Ada Reichert; and parents, Woodrow and Bertha (Snyder) Gregory.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow in Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery.
